The Etowah United Methodist Men are not formally organized but meet periodically at a local restaurant for breakfast, for fellowship and to plan their mission work. Meetings are announced in the Etoway, on the church web site, and in the online church Weekly Announcements.
The principal mission effort of the group centers around a Flea Market held annually on the first Saturday of August. Donations are collected throughout the year but principally between March and the end of July. Collected treasures are priced, categorized, and stored in a dedicated building behind the church. During the week before the sale, all merchandise is relocated to the Fellowship Hall and to a large rented tent in front of the church. The men are always seeking help in this effort.
Last year approximately 60 church members participated in the effort on sale Saturday. Proceeds from the Flea Market provided over $10,000 for distribution to a number of deserving missions and charities.
All men are welcome. Please call the church office, 891-4360, for current planned activities.
