Welcome to Etowah UMC Children and Family Ministries.

Our goal is to offer ways for your child to experience the love of Jesus and explore their faith in creative ways, while also supporting you as a parent to grow as a Christian and as a parent. Below you will find ongoing ministries for children at EUMC.

Kidz Club
Kindergarten-5th grade
We meet every Sunday at 10am for 45 minutes in the Youth Room during the Community Hour (in between the 9am and 11am services)! Each meeting includes worship, a lesson, and activities that are fun for both children, families, and volunteers!

Contact our Minister of Discipleship, Sarah Hoover, for more information on how to join or participate!

The curriculum we use for our Children's Ministry is from the Grow Curriculum.

During the month of May 2023, we are doing a 4-week series through the Grow Curriculum called "Heroic"! This series is from the New Testament on the Early Church!

Week 1: John 14:1–14; 1 Peter 2:9–10
  • BIG IDEA: Anyone can do great things for God.
Week 2: John 14:15–21; Matthew 28:18–20
  • BIG IDEA: God gives everyone a mission.
Week 3: Acts 1:1–11; Ephesians 1:15–23
  • BIG IDEA: No one is powerless when we have the Holy Spirit.
Week 4: Acts 2:1–12; 1 Corinthians 12:4–12
  • BIG IDEA: We are heroic when we work as a team.

Memory Verse:
”For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self- discipline.” — 2 Timothy 1:7 (NIV)

Children's Ministries

Kidz Club

Sunday mornings at the 9:45 a.m. service following the Children's Message, kids are invited to attend Children's Church to learn about worship, liturgy, communion, prayer, and scripture. Children will go back to room 14. During Children's Church, we will come back into the sanctuary for Communion and return to room 14.

Vacation Bible School (VBS)

Vacation Bible School meets for 4 days during the summer, usually in July. For more information about our Vacation Bible School program, please contact the Church Office or our Minister of Discipleship, Sarah Hoover!

For 2023, our theme for VBS will be "I Wonder..." and it will explore how curiosity helps grow our relationship with God! Join us this summer for an exciting Vacation Bible School!

Events and Activities: throughout the year, EUMC offers ways for your family to connect with Jesus together through events and take-home teachable resources, especially during Lent and Advent.

Children's Worship Bags: at all Sunday morning worship services, we have children's bags available for kids to take to their seats. Inside each bag are books, activity and drawing pages, and crayons for your child to use during worship.

Child and Youth safety is important to us. View our Safe Sanctuary Policy.
